scSVAS follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The only purpose of logging is to debug and resolve technical problems.
Like any other website, scSVAS uses 'cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. scSVAS requires Javascript to be enabled to render the visualization. scSVAS does not track users or collect statistics through Javascript.
scSVAS does not contain any third-party advertisement.
scSVAS needs to store and serve uploaded data files in order to provide its basic functionality. Your data will be stored securily on a server located in the City University of Hong Kong. Without explicit permission from you, we will not log or access the data files uploaded by you and will not disclose the data to any third-party. Your uploaded data may be processed by scripts, which can be found in our GitHub repository or requested by email.
Data uploaded by anonymous users will be deleted entirely if the user has been inactive in the last 24 hours. Data uploaded by registered users will not be deleted automatically. You can delete your uploaded files at any time under the "files" section in the sidebar.
However, we suggest you remove any sensitive information in your data before uploading, such as patients' names and any other personal information.
scSVAS can be used anonymously with all features accessible. However, when you register for an Account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as organization name and email address.
The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.
If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.
